The variety of dental treatments is perfectly reflected by the planning and construction of partial dentures. In the case of partial edentulous areas planning for the long run and preparing the most suitable restoration can result in success!
No wonder that our patients often react negatively or with refusal when they hear the expression "removable" denture as they will picture an old denture with clips in their imagination.
We hope we can convince you that today we are able to prepare up-to-date removable dentures with covered anchorage, so that they will not have any disadvantage in terms of aesthetics, functionality or cleansing!
Our philosophy is that we can increase the quality of your life significantly by combining two goal: aesthetics and functionality! Consequently, our patients should not only use their removable denture for chewing, but they should also be pleased with its looks. This can be achieved only with customized designing. We can decide what long term alternatives we can offer you after a thorough examination with the help of X-rays.
Removable dentures are prepared with a specific covered anchorage (MK1). The root of the matter is that a fixed partial denture is placed on the permanent teeth. Laboratory technicians build a rigid covered anchorage with bolts on the end of the partial denture. The removable part will be fixed here, and the edges will fit comfortably and tightly on the mandibular crest, palate and gum.
The MK1 removable denture with covered anchorage is an excellent solution for one- or two-sided edentulous area, can be anchored to both dowel abutment and implants, has excellent strength and is easy to clean.
Correct occlusion and functioning (chewing) is ensured by the accurate recording of TMJ (temporomandibular joint) movements.
People try to swallow or spit out strange substances that get into their mouths. Therefore the first eight days demand extremy attention, self-discipline and patience from patients. It takes some time until the body adopts the denture as if it was natural. However, after muscles and reflexes have got used to the denture, it will not cause a disadvantage in the quality of life any longer.
Accurate work can only be built on an excellent foundation. If it is not necessary to make a root canal therapy or to extract teeth, then it takes
2 days to prepare the lower and upper dental arch for the work
1 day: recording TMJ (temporomandibular joint) movements
+ 1 week until the work is finished in the dental laboratory!
Handing over is the last day.
If it is necessary to do root canal therapy or extract a root or to do any other kind of oral surgery, bones and soft tissues have to heal first (from 6 to 8 weeks). A temporary solution is offered for this period, while the permanent one is only made after the mouth has healed.
It is worth spending the next 2 or 3 days with checking and correcting smaller errors, healing incidental upsurges that can occur after having begun to use the new denture.
Just like your original, natural teeth! The partial denture and the covered anchorage mean no aesthetic disadvantage. Naturally you have to consider the shape and colour of the denture thoroughly together with your dentist as the laboratory technician will only create what you wish!
Yes!
Denture is prepared in an accurately defined position (recording of TMJ (temporomandibular joint) movements), the positions of the lower and upper dental arch are accurately fitted together so that the denture remains stable during chewing as the lower dental arch is backed up from both sides
No!
The accurate and fitted positioning of dental arches, the stability ensured by the anchorage and the naturalistic teeth (in terms of both shape and size) will give you the same sense and function as your natural teeth.
No!
Use it all day and night in the first few days!
Some people say you should not wear it at night - false!
Other people say you should wear it round the clock - false!
We recommend that you take out the denture for the night after a stressful, loaded day, however, you can keep it in for the night after a pleasant, peaceful day. We honestly hope you will wear it frequently at night!
Use tooth brush and tooth paste!
It is worth rinsing your denture and your mouth after every meal. Clean your tongue also with the help of a tooth brush, with sweeping movements from the back to the front.
Use Tabs and other strong dental cleansers only if you can not brush the denture with a tooth brush. Use it for at most half an hour (not all night), then rinse it thoroughly with water.
Use 5 minutes every day when you have time to massage the alveolar crest roundly with one of your thumbs, so you can stimulate the vascularization of your gum, the nourishment of the alveolar crest and decrease the possibility of retrogradation of the bone!
It is recommended to have an appointment after six months in the first year and annually later on.
